It analyzes the consciousness of people gathering at Hachinohe book center and explains the possibility of bookstores becoming “Ibasho” in rural areas.\nHachinohe Book Center is a book store runs by Hachinohe city (LLP). It opened in 2016 and is considered as an important part of the policy called “Honnomachi Hachinohe” at present. It is managed based on three basic policies, which is “increase the number of people who read books”, “increase the number of people who write books”, and “make the city a better place with books”. Actually, when we asked the people who visit the book center frequently about how they feel about the book center, the answers are so different.\nTheir opinions can be seen as “Ibasho”, which has three types as “acceptance space”, “communication space”, and “creative space”.
