It is necessary to provide, for not only foreign tourists but also foreigners living in the area, highly convenient transportation services.\nWith the concept of “leave nobody behind” becoming mainstream thought internationally, such as with the introduction of the SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals), providing public transport services that area accessible to everyone is one of the most important issues, facing modern, developed nations.\nThe purpose of this study is to clarify the issues foreigners face when using transportation. Hamamatsu city which, nationally, has the largest number of Brazilian residents, and buses are the center of public transportation in a city without subways was chosen as an example.\nFor both long term Brazilian residents and those on short stay visas, and also for foreign tourists who wish to travel smoothly by bus around the city, clear signage at both bus terminals and bus stops is indispensable.\nIn order to make bus transportation easy to use for foreigners, it is necessary to consider ways to provide accurate information regarding bus travel.\nQuestionnaires and interviews were conducted to identify problems currently faced by foreigners using buses as the main form of transport. The questionnaire results found that foreigners living in Hamamatsu city tended to prefer guidance in Japanese over their native language. In addition, it was also found that English was not the only “dominant language”.
