Based on Suganuma's discussion on Okinawan communities, this study compares and analyzes the case of elderly Japanese Brazilians in Hamamatsu. Many of them came to Japan as \"dekassegui\" in the 1990s and have remained due to various circumstances. This research aims to clarify how they construct their \"practice of aging\" and to explore issues related to aging in Japan's multicultural society. Furthermore, this paper is also intended to highlight and develop the graduate research process at Shizuoka University of Art and Culture.
