Though terms “urban” and “art” both were established in “modern” era in a way, the relationship of these words abruptly changed in the turn of the 20th century. In Passagenwerk Walter Benjamin aims to read the character of the period by analyzing the surface of the culture. Benjiamin finds as passage (an arcade) a transition zone between inside and outside. This ambiguity symbolizes the historical shift of the culture in the 19th century to that in 20th century. Benjamin dosen't care to submit the constradiction, on the contrary, he stands at the point as a flâneur (a city stroller) to achieve a gunuine understanding of the past and the future. In his point of view the situation of art in the period takes on contemporary connotation. It represents that Paris as a urban form plays an important role not only in its architectural constituion but in its cultural conditions.}, pages = {57--63}, title = {芸術と都市をめぐる一考察 : ベンヤミン「パッサージュ論」をめぐって}, volume = {1}, year = {2001}, yomi = {タニガワ, マミ} }
