At that time the Japanese modern educational system was being established and a lot of school-buildings with a hint of Western design, which was called \"GI-YOFU(=quasi-western-style)\", were built constructed all over the country. These schools were built by Japanese carpenters and some of them are still preserved as cultural properties.\nThis paper also considers the cost of the construction of Mitsuke-School and how the Mitsuke town people raised the funds in the early Meiji era. An attention is also paid to the fact that the Mitsuke town was the center of the local community situated along the main road Tokai -do.\nHigh-profile people of the Mitsuke town proposed the construction of the School and the townspeople came to support the project enthusiastically a view school as well. There was such a strong hope for new education on the one hand. On the other hand, in the Mitsuke town and its surroundings there had been Terakoyas (=temple schools) and Shijukus (=private schools) from the beginning of the Edo period.
