| 内容記述 | 本論は、1950年代後半に実施された子どもに関するテレビ視聴調査とそれに伴う各種論考を、同時代において新規のメディアとして現れたテレビへの想像力を含んだ言説として捉え、再読解する試みである。当時のテレビ視聴調査は、同時代における根拠のないテレビ批判に対抗するため行われた客観性の高いものであった。しかし一方でそこから得られた子どもに対するテレビの影響をめぐる解釈は、テレビ視聴をめぐる多様な価値観を含んでしまうものでもあった。つまり、こうしたテレビ視聴調査は、1950年代後半の「テレビを視聴する子ども」の実態を解明しながらも、一方で「テレビを視聴する子ども」をめぐる当時の社会的・文化的なイメージを再想像＝産出してしまう言説であった可能性を持っている。こうした調査言説のあり方の背景には、テレビという新たなテクノロジーメディアが日常世界に浸透する際に生じる、生活変容への「希望」や「不安」が入り混じった社会意識の反映が存在しているのではないか。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper uses discourse analysis to examine the research statements of television viewers about children in the late 1950’s. While this research has been considered objective and in contrast to unfavorable statements about children’s television viewing in that period, the interpretations of the effects of television viewing on children potentially included the values of television researchers. As a result, while discovering facts regarding the television viewing habits of children in the late 1950s, they may have also inadvertently contributed to reimaging and reproducing unfavorable images about children watching television. It appears that this research discourse reflects the mixture of hopes and fears and the social consciousness about the roles of the new medium then penetrating everyday life. | |||||||||
